The large-scale exhibition and sales event "Guangdong Products Go Global · Shantou Shines in Hong Kong," hosted by Shantou City, Guangdong Province, was held over two days starting yesterday at the Kowloon City Plaza. Fifty exhibitors from Shantou participated, showcasing specialty products in sectors such as textiles and apparel, creative toys, and food industries, attracting many local residents. A representative from the Shantou Municipal Commerce Bureau of Guangdong Province, interviewed on-site by Wen Wei Po, expressed hopes that the event would help promote high-quality products to the Hong Kong market while also leveraging Hong Kong as a "gateway to the sea" to accelerate the global expansion of Shantou brands. Some exhibitors stated their intention to utilize Hong Kong's business-friendly advantages to explore international markets.

Apparel Expo Sets Up Hong Kong Branch
Coinciding with the ongoing 5th Chaoshan International Textile and Apparel Expo in Shantou, the Shantou Textile and Garment Industry Association established a Hong Kong branch at the event, engaging with potential clients to actively expand into the local Hong Kong market.
Yu Shaofen, Secretary-General of the Shantou Textile and Garment Industry Association, told Wen Wei Po that Hong Kong is home to many overseas Teochew merchants who introduced advanced textile technology to Shantou in its early days, fostering the development of Shantou's textile industry chain. As the birthplace of Shantou's commerce, Hong Kong offers advantages in talent, financial services, and a business-friendly environment for international trade. Many Shantou enterprises have already chosen to register trading companies in Hong Kong to leverage this platform for global market expansion.
Buyer Places Million-Yuan On-Site Order
On-site, a Hong Kong company, Lian Ji Hao, placed an order worth RMB 1 million with Shantou Xinghua Wuji Food Company for products including Chaoshan beef balls.
Dignitaries attending the opening ceremony of the exhibition included Wen Zhanbin, Secretary of the Shantou Municipal Committee of Guangdong Province; Guo Shaowei, Deputy Director of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong; and Hu Dingxu, Chairman of the Hong Kong Teochew Community Association.
