The 2025 GOTEX São Paulo International Textile and Garment Procurement Exhibition (GOTEX) officially kicked off with great fanfare from 5th to 7th in August at the Anhembi Pavilion in São Paulo, Brazil.

To support Shantou enterprises in expanding their global market presence, securing overseas orders, and enhancing the brand influence of the local textile industry, STTGIA organized member companies to participate in the event in São Paulo, marking the third leg of its "Leveraging Trade Shows to Go Global" initiative.

China has long maintained its position as Brazil's largest source country for textiles and garments, accounting for approximately 60% of Brazil's total imports of these products, with enormous market potential.

Following preliminary promotion, invitation efforts, and enterprise registration, the secretariat has carefully selected over 200 types of fabrics and accessories, as well as nearly 30 finished products for exhibition. Among these, 10 representative innovative functional fabrics are being showcased in the event's trend display area.

Shantou, as a major production base for nylon fabrics, has established distinct advantages in scale, technology, and cost across its weaving and dyeing-and-printing processes, pooling efforts to build itself into "China’s City of Elastic Fabrics."

A representative from the secretariat then introduced the details of this exhibition participation and the specialty products on display.

During the exhibition, Shantou's textile and garment industrial cluster, leveraging its strengths in high-quality products, innovative designs, and supply chain capabilities, attracted numerous international buyers to engage in discussions and negotiations. Buyers, in particular, showed significant interest in products such as Eco-friendly fabrics and stylish knitwear.

In the first two days of the exhibition, the secretariat, along with enterprise representatives, engaged in in-depth exchanges and negotiations with buyers, precisely recommending products tailored to their specific needs. By the end of the second day, the secretariat had established initial contact with over 20 international buyers. Moving forward, priority will be given to connecting these buyers with the enterprises participating in this exhibition.

Utilizing this International exchange platform, STTGIA persisted in promoting the Shantou Textile standalone website. On the site, buyers were encouraged to scan the QR code to access the website, where they could peruse a diverse array of textile products and gain a deeper understanding of Shantou's unique and competitive offerings, thereby exploring additional opportunities for cooperation.

This trip to Brazil represents a pivotal moment for STTGIA as it guides enterprises towards global expansion through collective overseas initiatives. Our participation in the exhibition aims to highlight the industry's strong supply chain capabilities, boost the industry's brand recognition and influence, and gain an understanding of Brazil's market demands and trends. These efforts will establish a foundation for further exploration of the South American market.

From September 15 to 17, STTGIA will continue to fulfill its bridging role by organizing enterprises to embark on a mission to Paris, participate in the apparel procurement exhibition, engage in exchanges with local businesses, and seek cooperation opportunities.
